Bisensuality

In the terms of layman, bisensuality means biromantic + asexual. If one were to elucidate bisensuality means coming across a yearning to engage in sensual acts with a particular individual (kissing, snuggling, cuddling, hugging, hand holding, etc). Convenient for people on the asexual/aromantic gamut who feel fazed at the very thought of sexual acts or feel little to no sexual attraction but do aspire sensuality and feel sensual attraction.

Elucidating colours of the Bisensual flag

The Bisensual flag had been coined on the 2^nd of May, 2016. The three stripes betwixt the two pastel orange ones represent the bisexual pride flag, however, in a pastel version and not the original version which was deigned by Michael Page.  The pink swathe is representative of attraction to the same gender, whilst the blue one consists of the portrayal of attraction to the opposite gender. The intermedial stripe, the purple one symbolises attraction to more than one gender or sex. The orange swathes at the top and bottom denote ‘sensual attraction’. The flag in its entirety has been washed over with pastel so as to delineate the lack of sexual appeal or lure. Thus, when all of these marvellous colours are put together, we get the beauteous Bisensual flag.

Why the concept of Bisensuality is rare and unheard of?

I was talking to a friend of mine not long ago when she asked me if bisensual is even a word. She had only heard about bisexual mass of people. A question aroused in my brain as quick as lightening that why is the concept bisensuality so uncommon. Later I comprehended, majority of the individuals have heard about bisexuality plenty of times and not about bisensuality. The dissimilarity is negligible between the concepts of bisensuality and bisexuality. The only difference between these two pride classifications is that the bisexuals feel the romantic as well as sexual attraction towards the twain, male and female genders whereas the bisensuals only feel the romantic attraction towards men and women. Preponderance of people are not aware if the concept of bisensuality exists, which makes it an unheard and uncommon group.

Normalising Bisensual people

We live in the world where even the most normal things are not normalised like education for girls in certain rural villages then normalizing enormous concept like bisensuality can be far more difficult than we can ever imagine. As a very famous personality said that ‘nothing is impossible’, eradicating the erroneous concept people have about bisensuality can be onerous but definitely possible. Changing contemplations is something which cannot happen overnight. It is connected psychologically, the cogitation about such sensitive topics has been different for majority of people because since their childhood they were taught to not believe and support bisensuality and other pride genus but it is the 21^st century and it is necessary to normalize it. One of the most effective way to normalize it is by creating awareness and talking about it so that crowd around us starts to understand the concept of “love is love”. Regularly posting stuff and comprehending about bisensuality can help people understand that it is the most natural feeling and it is a human right to love/like anyone including any gender they like!

Connecting Aesthetic attraction to Bisensuality

Aesthetic attraction is something not everyone knows about. No doubt everyone of us has been aesthetically attracted towards people around us but certain people don’t happen to term it. Aesthetic attraction talks about the propensity to admire someone’s mien without the need of any sexual relations with them. Pretty similar to the concept of bisensuality right? It is requisite to know that physical attraction does not only include sexual attraction. Sensual attraction also plays a major role in the concept of physical attraction. Being connected sensually includes hugging, cuddling, snuggling and more. Physical touch is incredibly important in an individual’s life as it gives the feeling of warmth and affection. A neonate needs intimate touch to thrive and get the feeling of love. 

Fondness and affection towards both genders have such great beauty and how it’s actually something that makes more sense perhaps than being heterosexual. It’s a form of adoration for both the genders. Bisensuality is like that of a poet who adores all equally. The poet who digs beneath the surface of beauty.
